Reinvent Yellow Sales has added two compelling crime dramas to its Mipcom slate: "The Homicide Unit" from Sweden and Iceland's "Fjord." These series highlight prominent Nordic talent, with Swedish actress Pernilla August leading "The Homicide Unit" and Icelandic star Anita Briem taking the lead in "Fjord."
"The Homicide Unit," created by Gunnar A. K. Järvstad, features August as the chief of an elite traveling unit investigating intricate murder cases. The eight-part series, co-produced by SkyShowtime and TV4, is scheduled for a March 2027 premiere. Its narrative is enhanced by the diverse Swedish landscapes, from forests to coastlines.
"Fjord," co-created by Anita Briem, is a six-part series in English and Icelandic. Briem plays Ranna, who becomes engrossed in a cold case involving a missing choir teacher after relocating to Northern Iceland. The series, produced by Iceland's Guðný Guðjónsdóttir and Sara Djeddou Baldursdóttir with Belgium's Lunanime, is set to debut later this year. The show explores the tense atmosphere of living in close-knit communities with shared histories.
Reinvent Yellow Sales, following its merger with Yellow Film Studios, continues to focus on premium Nordic content while expanding into English-language productions. Helene Aurø, chief sales officer, noted that these series exemplify the strength of Nordic storytelling, resonating beyond their home borders. The company's Mipcom slate also includes other crime titles like "Nora Sand: Devil's Plan" and Finnish series, alongside high-end shows such as "Snake Killer."
