The emotionally resonant family drama 'Nooru Saami,' starring Vijay Antony, is slated for its digital release on July 31 via Zee5. This move aims to bring the film's compelling narrative to a wider audience following its theatrical run last month. Directed by Sasi, the movie marks a reunion with Vijay Antony, who previously collaborated on the successful film 'Pichaikkaran.'
Inspired by true events, 'Nooru Saami' centers on a widowed mother in her mid-40s. She devoted years to raising her son and supporting her family, foregoing her personal aspirations. Now, she desires to find a life partner, but this decision faces significant opposition from relatives, villagers, and a society that rigidly believes a mother's life should be solely dedicated to family responsibilities.
The film delves into themes of sacrifice, the pursuit of second chances, societal expectations, and individual freedom. Its grounded and emotional storytelling, coupled with strong performances, is expected to resonate with family audiences on the streaming platform. The OTT release provides an opportunity for those who missed the theatrical showing to experience this story based on real-life experiences.
