Christopher Nolan's contemporary reimagining of Homer's epic, The Odyssey, has dominated the worldwide box office. In its inaugural weekend, the film grossed an impressive $264 million globally. This performance exceeded projections and notably outshone the opening weekend of Nolan's previous blockbuster, Oppenheimer, which was a massive success in 2023.
The film's strong debut places it among Nolan's most successful openings. It ranks second only to The Dark Knight Rises, which debuted with $249 million in 2012, an amount equivalent to $362 million in today's currency.
