The popular series "Nobody Wants This" has secured a renewal for its fourth season on Netflix. The show, which centers on the relationship between Joanne and Rabbi Noah, has been a hit with viewers. However, the series has also faced scrutiny due to cast member Adam Brody's public statements regarding the Israel-Palestine conflict.
Brody's outspoken advocacy for Palestine, including calling the situation a genocide and supporting a free Palestine, reportedly divided members of the cast and crew. Co-creator Erin Foster acknowledged the 'complicated' nature of differing political views within the work environment, while actress Tovah Feldshuh, who plays Noah's mother, strongly disagreed with Brody's characterization of the conflict.
Despite the public debate and differing opinions, Feldshuh has since clarified that on-set harmony was maintained. The press release for season 4 confirms the return of key cast members. Kristen Bell, Adam Brody, Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons, Jackie Tohn, Stephanie Faracy, Michael Hitchcock, Paul Ben-Victor, Tovah Feldshuh, Andrew Rannells, Shiloh Bearman, and Sherry Cola are all set to reprise their roles.
Newcomers and supporting characters also confirmed to return include Timothy Simons as Sasha, Jackie Tohn as Esther, Stephanie Faracy as Lynn, Michael Hitchcock as Faracy's onscreen husband, Paul Ben-Victor as Noah's father, and Shiloh Bearman as Sasha and Esther's daughter. Andrew Rannells returns as Joanne's nemesis-turned-friend Sebastian, and Sarah Silverman will reprise her role as a fellow rabbi. Rachel Rosenbloom, Noah's ex, may also appear.
