Summary
- Noah Reid cast in Sheriff Country, may lead spinoff.
- Dr. Hudson Henshaw: Chief of Emergency Medicine.
- Spinoff follows doctors at Edgewater Memorial Hospital.
Actor Noah Reid is in negotiations to join the burgeoning Fire Country and Sheriff Country television universe. Reid, celebrated for his role as Patrick in Schitt's Creek, is slated to appear in two episodes of Sheriff Country's second season as Dr. Hudson "Hud" Henshaw.
This guest casting includes an option for Reid to star in a new series. The potential spinoff, informally known as "Edge Med," would focus on the medical professionals at Edgewater Memorial Hospital. This mirrors the network's strategy with Sheriff Country, which originated from a guest appearance by Morena Baccarin on Fire Country.
Reid's character, Dr. Henshaw, is the charismatic Chief of Emergency Medicine at Edgewater Memorial. Despite hailing from a family with a criminal background, he pursued medicine ethically. His professional dedication is matched by a fierce commitment to his community and a willingness to engage in conflict.
Reid's previous roles include a starring part in the comedy series Kevin From Work and a regular role on Prime Video's Outer Range. He also appeared in AMC's Anne Rice's The Vampire Lestat.
