Reid is scheduled to appear in two episodes of the upcoming second season of CBS' "Sheriff Country" as Dr. Hudson "Hud" Henshaw. This guest role comes with the potential to headline a new series. If picked up, Reid would star in an untitled medical drama spinoff, informally referred to as "Edge Med," based in Edgewater. This strategy mirrors how "Sheriff Country" itself originated, with a lead character first appearing in the original "Fire Country" series.

Dr. Henshaw is the charming yet rugged Chief of Emergency Medicine at Edgewater Memorial Hospital, also known as "Edge Med." Despite his upbringing in a challenging area and being the son of convicted felons, he pursued medicine without family financial aid. He is a dedicated doctor, committed to his oath, but not averse to conflict. His family background notably parallels that of "Sheriff Country's" lead, Mickey Fox, whose father also has a criminal past. This casting follows an extensive search for the role.
