Kahan's Citi Field Apology: 'I'd Play in a Volcano'

Musician Noah Kahan apologized to fans for a significant concert cancellation at Citi Field in Queens, New York, which occurred last month. The "Stick Season" singer expressed his deep remorse from the stage on Sunday, July 19, acknowledging the fans' disappointment. This apology came after the first of two scheduled concerts at the venue was abruptly canceled the previous evening due to severe weather.

Ticket holders received an advisory on Saturday, July 18, indicating a delayed start due to a storm, leading to the cancellation of opening acts. As the show approached, Citi Field officially canceled the event citing safety concerns. Kahan addressed the situation during his second concert, noting his history of only canceling six shows out of approximately 500 in his nine-year career. He emphasized that such decisions are made only when unavoidable, expressing sympathy for those who were unable to attend and promising extreme dedication to his fans.

Kahan concluded his remarks by thanking the audience for attending the second night at the Queens venue, describing it as "one for the ages." His Great Divide Tour, which began on June 11 in Orlando, Florida, was scheduled to continue in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, July 22, and conclude in Paris on December 7.
