Actor Nithiin is set to star in his upcoming film, 'Alias Rukmini,' which was announced recently. This project is the second venture from Nani's Unanimous Productions, following the success of 'Court - State Vs A Nobody.'
The announcement video for 'Alias Rukmini' has generated significant buzz, introducing Nithiin's character as a magazine writer who adopts his wife Rukmini's name as his pen name. This creative premise has piqued audience interest.
Nithiin's career has seen a lean period at the box office, with his last films, 'Thammudu' and 'Robinhood' in 2025, failing to perform well. His highest-grossing film to date remains 'Bheeshma,' a 2020 romance drama that collected 35.6 crore net in India and over 50 crore worldwide.
To achieve a new career milestone, 'Alias Rukmini' will need to surpass 'Bheeshma's' earnings. The film's association with Nani's production house, known for critically and commercially successful films like 'Court-State Vs A Nobody' (40.7 crore net domestic), adds to the anticipation for a strong narrative.
