- Broke Guinness World Record for longest time playing trumpet continuously
- Overcame physical challenges to achieve the record

In November 2025, Nigerian music teacher Joshua has achieved a remarkable feat by setting a new Guinness World Record for the longest time spent playing the trumpet continuously. After a previous failed attempt two years ago, Joshua has now played the trumpet for 25 hours and 30 minutes straight, overcoming physical challenges such as chapped lips, trembling legs, and fatigue.
Joshua's passion for the trumpet began 15 years ago when he first picked up the instrument, after trying the drums and clarinet without success. He now teaches students at the American International School of Abuja and shares his love for the trumpet. Determined to draw attention to the undervalued role of musicians and music education, Joshua decided to attempt the world record, as there was no previous record for the longest time spent playing the trumpet.
The record attempt was not without its obstacles. Joshua had to adhere to strict rules, including playing a wide variety of music without repeating any songs and avoiding improvisation. Despite the physical toll, Joshua persevered, playing classical pieces, Afrobeat songs, jazz, and pop music to keep the momentum going. His dedication and resilience inspired the audience, who witnessed his remarkable achievement.
Joshua's success has not only earned him a Guinness World Record but also serves as a testament to the power of perseverance and the importance of pursuing one's passions. As he looks to the future, Joshua plans to embark on a Music Empowerment tour across Africa, using music as a tool to inspire others and promote the value of music education.
