Nigel Havers, known for his role in "Coronation Street," recently shared a surprising personal anecdote on BBC Morning Live. While discussing his upcoming touring production, the 74-year-old actor reflected on his BAFTA-nominated performance in the 1981 film "Chariots of Fire."
During the interview, Havers disclosed that he sustained a significant injury during the film's production. Ten days before shooting began, he dislocated his shoulder and broke his wrist while attempting to hurdle for a scene. This occurred when he was demonstrating his athletic prowess to co-star Ben Cross.
Fearing that his injury would prevent him from participating in the film, Havers chose to conceal it from the production crew. He explained that the injury healed on its own over time. However, he admitted to the show's hosts, Holly Hamilton and Rav Wilding, that he has since lost all feeling in his thumb as a result.
