Niecy Nash-Betts and Jessica Betts recently celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary, reflecting on the lessons learned in their marriage. The couple attended the World Premiere of Cirque Du Soleil LUDÕ in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where Nash-Betts humorously shared their primary marriage rule: "Only make love to each other." More seriously, they stressed the importance of intentionality, love, thoughtfulness, and continuous dating.

Their five-year milestone was marked by an intimate Mardi Gras-themed celebration at their California home, a nod to their New Orleans roots where they first fell in love. The festivities included traditional New Orleans elements like seafood boils and a brass band. This celebration followed their original pandemic wedding, which was a smaller affair with only 24 guests.

Nash-Betts has expressed that her marriage has taught her the value of complete acceptance and the freedom to fully occupy her space. Betts added that her wife makes her feel energized each morning. They also humorously suggested that regular skinny-dipping contributes to their clothes easily falling off, a practice Betts confirmed as a "must."
