Kate Madden, who previously used the name Harlow, now prefers to be called Kate, embracing her middle name. This change was confirmed in January, with Richie stating Kate has used the name throughout her life. Madden's father, Joel Madden, shared that Kate began using her middle name in first grade, having chosen it herself.

For the event, Richie sported a bohemian-inspired polka-dot dress and headscarf, while Kate donned a bold strapless leather minidress with knee-high boots. The mother-daughter pair were last seen together in April 2024 at the premiere of "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead," accompanied by Joel Madden and Richie's 16-year-old son, Sparrow.

Richie has spoken positively about her experience raising teenagers, describing it as her "favorite stage." She finds it easy to recall her own teenage years when relating to her children's experiences and friend drama.
