Nicole Kidman Opens Up Post-Keith Split

Nicole Kidman has offered a glimpse into her emotional well-being following her divorce filing from country music star Keith Urban. Speaking with Ariana Grande for Interview magazine, Kidman described her current state as "hanging in there." The actress also reflected on her experience filming the 'Practical Magic' sequel, noting a sense of feeling "safe" and "protected" due to the strong bonds with her co-stars, including Sandra Bullock. This feeling of security contrasted with the personal upheaval of her separation.

The news of Kidman and Urban's split, after 19 years of marriage, came as a shock to many in the fall. Reports indicated Kidman had been dreading the public's reaction to their breakup. The couple's separation was confirmed in late September, with Kidman officially filing for divorce on September 30, citing irreconcilable differences. Their marriage reportedly began to face difficulties in early summer 2025, attributed to long-term divergence and work commitments.

In her divorce filing, Kidman has requested to be named the primary residential parent for their two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14. The couple first met in January 2005 at the G'Day LA gala and married in a Catholic ceremony in Sydney in 2006. Kidman had previously shared that Urban did not ask her out until four months after their initial meeting, with him admitting he had to gather the courage to call her.
