- Proceeds from song release will go to hospital charities.

Rock artist Sam Scherdel has collaborated with the Hull NHS Choir, inviting them into a recording studio to create a choral version of his popular song, 'Somewhere in the Middle.' This track recently gained widespread attention, amassing over two million views on TikTok and featuring in an episode of ITV's Love Island.
Scherdel, originally from Sheffield, was reportedly stunned and moved to tears by the choir's arrangement, which began after choir leader Lucy Vere became a fan of the song. The Hull NHS Choir, established in 2014 and known for performing at the King's Coronation concert, developed their own unique arrangement.
When a clip of their performance went viral on TikTok, Scherdel discovered it and reached out. This led to the studio collaboration, with Scherdel set to perform live with the choir on May 22 at The Social in Hull. The reimagined track will be released on Bandcamp, with all proceeds designated for two regional hospital charities.
