Former Child Star Reunites With Ex for Rom-Com Sequel

Julia Guilardi's debut novel, "Let's Take It from the Top," is set to be released in Spring 2027. The story centers on Anna, a former child star navigating a new career path as the lead in a superhero film franchise. Anna's career takes a turn when she must fulfill a contract to star in a sequel to a successful romantic comedy from her past. This sequel reunites her with Freddie, her former costar and real-life ex-boyfriend. They meet nearly a decade later in Vermont to film the movie, forcing them to confront their shared history and lingering emotions. The novel offers a second-chance romance inspired by Jane Austen's "Persuasion." Guilardi explains the book explores the pressures of fame in the age of social media and what it means for a young woman to control her own narrative. "Let's Take It from the Top" will be published on March 9, 2027.
