Jon Blåhed's romantic comedy, "The Bottom Line," is set to premiere, featuring actors Alma Pöysti, William Spetz, and Pekka Strang. Pöysti stars as Iris, a 45-year-old musician performing on the ferry between Vaasa, Finland, and Umeå, Sweden. Her life takes an unexpected turn when a younger music producer notices her, igniting a desire for change.
The film delves into self-deception, longing, and the bravery required to embrace one's true self. The ferry itself serves as a poignant setting, connecting two countries and three languages, symbolizing Iris's internal struggle between different life paths. Original songs for the film will be written by Markus Krunegård, with Pöysti performing them. The project, developed with support from the Swedish Film Institute, is currently in development and financing. It is produced by Mia Welin for Anagram Sweden and co-produced by Just Republic in Finland, with Scanbox handling Nordic distribution.
