Highlands Saga Returns: New 'Monarch of the Glen'!

A beloved Scottish dramedy, 'Monarch of the Glen,' is being reimagined for PBS' 'Masterpiece' with a new six-episode series. This fresh take will transport viewers back to the Scottish Highlands, focusing on a rich, romantic, and humorous family saga centered on legacy, love, and survival.

The new series shifts focus from the original's restaurateur to Isla Campbell, a successful London lawyer. Following her father's funeral, Isla discovers she has inherited a substantial million-pound debt and an ancestral home. Her estranged brother opposes her plans, setting the stage for conflict and cooperation as they race against time to save the struggling estate.

Set against the breathtaking landscapes of the Scottish Highlands, the reimagined series promises to introduce unforgettable new characters. It will weave a tale of heart, humor, and romance, all bound together by the wild beauty of the region and the spirit of its people.
