Actor and rapper Travis Bennett, alongside producer Steelo Brim, have been announced as the new hosts for "The Shop." This announcement comes as the show prepares to launch a new season of episodes starting Monday, June 22. Original hosts LeBron James and Maverick Carter have passed the torch to Bennett and Brim.
Fulwell Entertainment revealed that James and Carter personally selected the new duo. Maverick Carter will continue to be involved with the production. Carter expressed confidence in Bennett and Brim, stating they bring "new energy and fresh perspectives" to the show's tradition of honest conversations.
The reimagined "The Shop" will maintain its barbershop setting and conversational style but will shift to a weekly format. Each episode will feature the hosts engaging with two guests, facilitating deeper connections and exploring the stories behind cultural moments. The season premiere guests will be Jasper Dolphin and Melvin Gregg.
"The Shop," originally created by Paul Rivera and Randy Mims, debuted in 2018. Bennett and Brim shared their excitement about joining a platform they admire. They are scheduled to appear at Cannes Lions on June 24 and will host the show's first live taping at Fanatics Fest in New York City on July 17, where they will chat with James and Carter.
