Kratos is set to return in a new installment of the acclaimed God of War series, confirmed by game director Cory Barlog. Development is underway at PlayStation's Santa Monica Studio.
This upcoming Kratos adventure will directly build upon the narrative established in God of War Laufey. The latter game, starring Laufey (aka Faye), is scheduled for release on February 16, 2027, for the PlayStation 5.
God of War Laufey follows Faye's journey to the Everywhen, the afterlife of the gods. There, she must confront divine adversaries to safeguard the plans she made for Kratos and Atreus.
Following his encounters with Greek and Norse deities, Kratos' next journey might introduce him to entirely new mythologies, such as Egyptian and Tibetan gods.
