New Found Glory announced they will perform at EPCOT's Eat to the Beat Concert series on September 28 and 29 to honor their late co-founder, Chad Gilbert. The band expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support following Gilbert's passing on September 20. They explained that Gilbert, a passionate Disney enthusiast, was eagerly anticipating these EPCOT dates and had even contributed to the setlists.
Canceling their appearance at the Aftershock Festival, New Found Glory stated their EPCOT performances will serve as a tribute to Gilbert's memory. "Every note we play and every word you sing at Epcot is for Chad," the band shared. Gilbert, who had been undergoing treatment for cancer since 2021, had recently returned to the stage after brain cancer surgery.
His bandmates and wife, Lisa Cimorelli, announced his peaceful passing, noting he was surrounded by loved ones. They described him as a legendary musician but emphasized his greatest pride was being a husband and father. Gilbert's own words revealed his dream was fulfilled in his family and his music's ability to inspire others facing adversity.
