A reimagined "Faces of Death" is slated for a wide theatrical release on April 10, acquired by IFC and Shudder for North American distribution. Directed by Daniel Goldhaber and written by Goldhaber and Isa Mazzei, this modern update tackles the original's infamous "Is it real or not?" conceit through the lens of contemporary digital culture.
The film centers on a content moderator, played by Barbie Ferreira, who discovers what appear to be murder re-enactments mirroring the original "Faces of Death." In an online world saturated with unfiltered violence, she must discern between fiction and reality.
