Sarah J. Maas revealed on Alex Cooper's Call Her Daddy podcast that two new installments of her popular 'A Court of Thorns and Roses' series are in the works. These highly anticipated books are scheduled for release in 2026 and early 2027, respectively. The series, set in the magical realm of Prythian, has captivated a large fanbase.
Maas, born in 1986, began writing at 16, inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien, and published her first novel, 'Throne of Glass,' by age 22. As of 2022, the 'Throne of Glass' series had sold 12 million copies.
She met her husband, Josh Wasserman, who she affectionately calls 'Papa Maas,' during her freshman year at Hamilton College. Wasserman was an RA in her dorm building. They married on May 3, 2010, and are parents to two children, Taran and Sloane.
While Maas has not confirmed if her husband inspired any characters, fans speculate that Josh Wasserman may have influenced the character of 'Rhysand,' noting similarities and shared birthdays.
