StudioMDHR unveiled Mighty Cuphead Adventure at Summer Game Fest Live 2026, a new 2D platformer that shifts away from the traditional hand-drawn animation of Cuphead. This upcoming title features an 8-bit visual style reminiscent of classic Super Mario Bros. games, offering a distinct aesthetic for fans. The game promises a fast-paced action platformer shooter experience, maintaining the series' signature frantic gameplay.
Mighty Cuphead Adventure boasts a unique development approach, being programmed in Assembly Language with the Sega Master System in mind. While playable on modern consoles and PCs, a physical cartridge release for the Master System is planned. In addition to this retro-inspired project, StudioMDHR confirmed that another hand-drawn Cuphead game is also in development, suggesting a longer wait for its release but promising a visually stunning experience.
