Netflix's music competition series, 'Building the Band,' has officially concluded after just one season. The show, which aimed to assemble a new band from 50 aspiring singers who competed without seeing each other, faced cancellation.
Filmed in Manchester in late August 2024, the series featured a notable lineup of mentors including former One Direction member Liam Payne, Pussycat Dolls' Nicole Scherzinger, and Kelly Rowland of Destiny's Child. AJ McLean from the Backstreet Boys hosted the competition.
The show's finale aired two months before Liam Payne's tragic death in Argentina. 'Building the Band' was dedicated to his memory. Despite the cancellation, the show's finalists have since released original music and embarked on tours.
