- They will also fund and release low-budget films from emerging talent.
- Ethos production company ensures equal pay and equity for all.

Filmmakers Clint Bentley and Greg Kwedar, known for the Oscar-nominated drama 'Train Dreams,' have entered into a first-look deal with Netflix. Through their production banner Ethos, they will develop and produce feature films for the streaming giant.
Bentley and Kwedar, who co-write and alternate directing duties, are committed to nurturing new talent. Under this new partnership, Netflix will fund the development and production of low-budget films from up-and-coming filmmakers selected from major festivals and film schools, ensuring their release.
Ethos, launched in 2024, operates with a unique model: everyone involved in their productions, regardless of their role, receives the same wage and equity in the films. This approach aims to create a sustainable and equitable environment for independent filmmakers.
"Our hope was to create a home where independent filmmakers can make bold, enduring work in an environment that is equitable and sustainable," Bentley and Kwedar stated. Sean Berney, Netflix's head of film acquisitions, praised their talent and shared commitment to nurturing the next generation of filmmakers.
The duo's previous acclaimed films include 'Transpecos' and 'Jockey.' Their film 'Sing Sing' premiered at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival and 'Train Dreams' debuted at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, leading to multiple award nominations and wins.
Currently, Bentley and Kwedar are in post-production on 'Saturn Return,' a romance film starring Charles Melton, Rachel Brosnahan, and Will Poulter, set in Chicago. The film is slated for release on Netflix later this year. The company is also seeking a creative director to manage daily operations.
