Netflix eyes HBO team post-acquisition

Netflix's co-CEO Greg Peters has indicated that the company intends to retain the existing HBO team following its acquisition of Warner Bros. This strategic decision acknowledges the considerable achievements of HBO's creative leadership. Peters stated that the HBO team possesses a proven ability to foster talent and provide an environment conducive to compelling storytelling.

The precise details regarding the integration of HBO Max into the Netflix service are still being evaluated. Peters acknowledged that while Netflix has not previously merged a streaming service into its own, recent bundling arrangements, such as the AMC Collection, have demonstrated potential benefits. These include the possibility of delivering a superior product to consumers at a lower ultimate cost, alongside advantages for the business itself.

Peters also emphasized that the HBO team would continue to operate under their established brand, which resonates with the type of programming they create.
