Netflix has ordered an eight-episode young adult romance series, "Sid & Zoey," set to explore a dark supernatural mystery. The show centers on Sid, a morally ambiguous teenager from New York, who is sent to live with his mother's family in a quaint Mississippi town.
He encounters Zoey, the sharp-witted daughter of the local police chief, and despite their initial resistance to mutual attraction, they become entangled in a hidden world. This clandestine underworld harbors a supernatural mystery that could prove deadly.
The series is developed by Jon Kasdan, known for his work on "Dawson's Creek" and "Willow," and written by John Shiban, who previously contributed to "Ozark" and "Supernatural."
Blumhouse Atomic Monster and Bad Robot are executive producing the project. Netflix continues its strong push into the YA genre, following successful series like "Wednesday" and "My Life With the Walter Boys."
