Netflix Realigns Comedy, Merging Animation
25 Jun
Summary
- Adult animation now falls under Tracey Pakosta, VP of Comedy.
- This move brings the operation back to its original structure.
- The realignment impacts both TV and feature animation divisions.

Netflix has recently brought its adult animation series operations back under the leadership of Tracey Pakosta, VP of Comedy Original Series. This organizational shift restores the initial structure from when Pakosta joined Netflix in 2020. Billy Wee, Director of Adult Animation, will now report directly to Pakosta, alongside other department managers.
This consolidation aims to unify creators working across live-action, adult animated series, and standup comedy, all areas overseen by Pakosta. Several creators, including Mike Schur, Nick Kroll, Ali Wong, and Ricky Gervais, have ongoing projects in both live-action and adult animation at the streamer.
The TV animation realignment occurred a few weeks prior to the announced restructuring of Netflix's feature animation division, which now sees Hannah Minghella leading the Netflix Animation Studio. This strategic move positions Netflix to better manage its diverse comedy and animation content.
