Tim Fehlbaum, known for directing the Oscar-nominated 'September 5', will direct an English-language remake of the French thriller 'Black Box' for Netflix. The adaptation's script will be written by Adam Gyngell and Fred Fernandez-Armesto, a UK-based writing pair with credits on 'Hijack' and 'Strangers'.
'Black Box' is described as a paranoid thriller in the vein of 'The Conversation' and 'The Parallax View'. The narrative follows a NTSB black box analyst who investigates a catastrophic plane crash. He discovers chilling audio anomalies that others overlook, propelling him to uncover a shocking conspiracy.
Andrew Mittman of 1.21 is producing the remake alongside Wassim Beji, Thibault Gast, and Matthias Weber, who produced the original 2021 film. Kai Dolbashian is serving as executive producer for 1.21.
