Audiard Tackles Netflix Horror with 'La Nuit ravagee'

Director Jacques Audiard is set to direct a French-language film adaptation of Jean-Baptiste Del Amo's horror novel, "La Nuit ravagee," for Netflix. This project represents Audiard's first venture into the horror genre.

The narrative is set in Saint-Auch, a fictional suburb on the outskirts of Toulouse in Southern France. It follows a group of teenagers who become captivated by an abandoned house possessing a strange and sinister power over them.

Following the disturbing death of a friend, the teenagers decide to enter the house, unaware of its supernatural nature. Once inside, the house begins to exploit their deepest fears, desires, and traumas, manifesting their psychological weaknesses into terrifying and inescapable monstrous forms.

Jean-Baptiste Del Amo's previous novel, "Le Regne Animal," was also adapted into a French film directed by Thomas Cailley, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.
