Bestselling 'Twisted' Book Series Headed to Netflix as Highly Anticipated TV Adaptation

In October 2025, author Ana Huang was thrilled to learn that her bestselling Twisted book series would be adapted into a television series by Netflix. The news "definitely freaked [Huang] out a little" at first, as the prospect of seeing her popular romance novels come to life on the screen seemed almost unbelievable.

Huang's Twisted series, which includes the interconnected books Twisted Love, Twisted Games, Twisted Hate, and Twisted Lies, has amassed nearly 4 million ratings on Goodreads and has become a sensation on BookTok and Bookstagram. The books, known for their "steam, suspense and darker themes," have captivated readers around the world.

As the adaptation moves forward, Huang is excited about the project and the "great" team working on it. However, she also acknowledges the pressure of translating her beloved stories to the screen. Huang's fans are "passionate and...so excited," but they also have strong opinions about how the characters and plot should be portrayed. The author must now navigate that balance, keeping the heart of the stories intact while also recognizing that changes will be necessary in the adaptation process.

Despite the challenges, Huang is looking forward to seeing her Twisted series come to life on Netflix in the near future. For the author, the opportunity to bring her captivating romance novels to the screen is a dream come true, even if it took some time to fully sink in.
