Neon to Release Hirokazu Kore-eda's "Sheep in the Box" Nationwide in US

On November 10, 2025, Neon announced that it has acquired the US, UK, and Australian rights to Hirokazu Kore-eda's upcoming film "Sheep in the Box." The film, which Kore-eda also wrote, is currently in production and stars Haruka Ayase and Daigo.
"Sheep in the Box" is set in the near future and follows a couple who take in a state-of-the-art humanoid as their son. The title of the film was inspired by the French children's novel "The Little Prince." Neon plans to release the film theatrically in the US nationwide.
This deal reunites Neon with acclaimed director Kore-eda, whose previous works include the 2018 Palme d'Or winner "Shoplifters" and other acclaimed features that have earned awards at the Cannes Film Festival, such as "Like Father, Like Son" and "Nobody Knows." Kore-eda is considered one of the most lauded filmmakers in the world.
