Neena Gupta, recently seen in 'Vadh 2', has shared a past career experience involving director Subhash Ghai. During the filming of the song 'Choli Ke Peechhe' from the 1993 film 'Khalnayak', Ghai reportedly instructed the costume designer to alter Neena Gupta's appearance.
Gupta recalled that Ghai wanted her to "appear fuller" for the song's character. At the time, she felt angry and that the comment was inappropriate. However, reflecting on the incident years later, Gupta stated she now understands it as Ghai expressing his directorial vision plainly for the character he envisioned.
In other recent work, Gupta was part of the anthology film 'Metro... In Dino', released in 2025. She also featured in 'Vadh 2', a sequel to the 2022 film, which received technical praise for its cinematography and background score, though its editing and music were noted for areas of improvement.
