Neelam Kothari addresses Govinda marriage rumors

Neelam Kothari has recently addressed persistent rumors about her relationship with actor Govinda, her co-star from the 1980s and early 1990s. Kothari clarified that during that period, she was very young and unaware that Govinda was married. She also stated that her parents, who were strict, would not have allowed a romantic relationship. Due to her young age, a family member often accompanied her to film sets, though she emphasized this was for supervision, not due to a dangerous industry environment.

Her husband, Samir Soni, also commented on the speculation, indicating he doesn't dwell on events from decades ago that he was not privy to. Soni mentioned, "Something that may or may not have happened 20 years ago – I don't know about it. So how can I hold on to it?" Kothari added that she was treated like a child on set, with actors like Jackie Shroff and Sanjay Dutt being particularly protective. Kothari later transitioned to jewellery design before returning to acting with the Netflix series 'Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives'.
