Ndegeocello's Dylan Cover Features Star-Studded Trio

Meshell Ndegeocello is set to release her new collaborative album, "Synonym," on October 2. The latest offering from the album features a unique cover of Bob Dylan's iconic "With God on Our Side," performed by Ndegeocello alongside artists Bill Callahan and Chris Thile. This rendition of the classic track has been given a more aggressive feel, according to Ndegeocello.

Ndegeocello expressed admiration for her collaborators, describing Bill Callahan's voice as enchanting and Chris Thile's as having a beloved earthiness. The arrangement of the Dylan song was a deliberate challenge, aiming to imbue the folk melody with newfound intensity while still honoring its essence. The album "Synonym" boasts an impressive list of other contributing artists, including Chaka Khan, Brandi Carlile, Moses Sumney, Anohni, and Cat Power.
