A new medical drama series titled "Truth" is currently in development at NBC. This series draws inspiration from the life and career of Dr. Roger Mitchell Jr., who previously served as Washington D.C.'s youngest chief medical examiner. The narrative will center on Xavier "Truth" Hall, a brilliant young medical examiner tasked with leading a major city's morgue.
"Truth" will explore Hall's genius-level medical expertise as he works to unravel the mysteries behind various deaths, providing much-needed closure for grieving families. Beyond his professional life, the series will delve into his personal struggles and his efforts to connect with his estranged, drug-addicted father, using the lessons learned from the deceased to aid the living.
The project is a collaboration between Dallas Jackson, David Marshall Grant, and Malcolm D. Lee, with Lee also directing. Jackson and Grant co-wrote the series, which is produced by Lee's Blackmaled Productions and Universal Television. Dr. Roger Mitchell Jr. is also attached as a co-executive producer.
