The production, conceived and directed by Moisés Kaufman, is scheduled to begin previews on Monday, November 4, at the Barrymore Theatre, with opening night on Monday, November 9.
The play dramatizes the discovery of a German photo album in 2007, containing unique images of Nazi-era concentration camp guards and their daily lives. The album's arrival at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum sparked debate about the perpetrators and humanity.
"Here There Are Blueberries" previously had an Off-Broadway run in 2024 and a world premiere at La Jolla Playhouse in 2022. It was also a finalist for the 2024 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and won the 2025 Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Play.
Producers emphasize the play's relevance today, noting its exploration of how ordinary people become complicit and the vital responsibility of remembering history. The creative team includes scenic designer Derek McLane and costume designer Dede Ayite.
