- Early 20th-century women authors explored detective fiction and empowerment.
- Seminars by Nayagi have led to the publication of 'Nayagi 2025'.

The Nayagi initiative emerged in January 2025 from a desire to identify and celebrate contemporary Tamil women writers. This project has since broadened its scope to include uncovering the contributions of early 20th-century female authors, who were pioneers in genres such as detective fiction and proponents of women's empowerment.
Nayagi organized a significant day-long seminar on March 22, 2025, focusing on twelve emerging 21st-century Tamil women writers, as well as established names. This event was followed by 'Nayagi 1947', which paid tribute to the sacrifices of freedom fighters' wives. A third seminar explored women in performing arts and music from the 18th and 19th centuries.
The lectures from these seminars have been published as a book titled 'Nayagi 2025'. This publication was launched during the recent 'Nayagi 2026' event in Chennai. The Nayagi team comprises individuals from various creative fields, and they collaborate with experts across genders to further their mission.
