In November 2025, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2020 crime thriller 'Raat Akeli Hai' was announced. Titled 'Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders', the new film will once again feature Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead role of Inspector Jatil Yadav.
Set a few years after the events of the first movie, the sequel follows Jatil as he is drawn into another complex investigation. This time, he must solve a chilling case of murder committed in cold blood, which leads him to unravel long-buried secrets within a powerful family. As the mystery deepens, Jatil is once again compelled to confront the delicate balance between truth and consequence.
Reprising his role, Nawazuddin Siddiqui expressed his excitement to explore new layers of the character he has come to identify with. "Jatil Yadav is a character very close to me, flawed and restless, yet relentless in the pursuit of justice," he said. "In the sequel, he faces a case that tests everything he believes in."
The film, produced by RSVP and MacGuffin Pictures, will have its world premiere at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa this November, before its wider release on Netflix.
