Fog Dims Navy Pier Fireworks Spectacle
5 Jul
Summary
- Dense fog obscured Navy Pier's July 4th fireworks display.
- The fireworks were billed as the largest and longest ever.
- Navy Pier offers free rides on Wednesdays through Labor Day.
Saturday night's highly anticipated Fourth of July fireworks display at Navy Pier was significantly impacted by dense fog. The event, advertised as the largest and longest in the pier's history, was largely hidden from view by the marine fog, disappointing many spectators. Although the fireworks continued as scheduled, attendees could only perceive the colors through the thick mist.
Navy Pier acknowledged the disappointing experience for guests due to the fog. The pier will continue its schedule of free fireworks every Wednesday and Saturday night until Labor Day. As a special offer, free rides on the Centennial Wheel will also be available on Wednesday evenings, beginning at 6 p.m., throughout the same period.
