Sacred idols begin 10-day journey for Thiruvananthapuram Navaratri

Preparations are underway for the annual Navaratri procession, with the Thiruvananthapuram district collector and rural SP appointed as coordinators. This significant event begins on October 9, starting from Padmanabhapuram Palace in Tamil Nadu. The procession will carry the idols of Goddess Saraswati, Devi from Suchindram, and Kumaraswami from Kumarakovil, alongside royal artifacts.
The procession is expected to enter Kerala through Kaliyikkavila on October 10 after a stop at Kuzhithura Sree Mahadeva Temple. Following ceremonial receptions, it will proceed to Neyyattinkara Sree Krishna Swamy Temple for an overnight stay. The idols will eventually reach the Navaratri Mandapam in Thiruvananthapuram on October 11.
The 10-day Navaratri pujas will officially commence on October 12 and conclude on October 21. The festival will see the Saraswati idol installed at the Navaratri Mandapam, with other deities placed at Aryasala and Chentitta Devi Temple. Officials from both Kerala and Tamil Nadu will be accommodated, and special KSRTC bus services will operate.
