Nate Bargatze's Life Imitates Art in New Comedy Film

Nate Bargatze, known for his relatable stand-up comedy, is making his cinematic debut in "The Breadwinner," a family comedy set for release on May 29. He co-wrote the film, which sees him portray a character who embraces the role of a stay-at-home dad as his wife's career takes off. Bargatze, inspired by John Hughes, aims to recapture the magic of classic family movies, creating a feel-good story with "The Breadwinner" that audiences can revisit.

With a career built on clean, funny, and relatable material, Bargatze sought to apply his instincts to filmmaking. He has previously turned down opportunities, including a role in a Coen brothers film, to maintain his artistic integrity and focus on projects aligned with his "Always clean. Always funny." motto. He believes there's a strong demand for family-friendly entertainment that isn't animated, aiming for "The Breadwinner" to have a positive impact similar to "Ted Lasso."
