Nashville Airport to Be Named Dolly Parton

Nashville International Airport will soon bear the name of the legendary country music star, Dolly Parton. The Tennessee Governor officially announced the decision late last month, and the Airport Authority board has since voted unanimously in favor. This significant honor comes after a campaign to rename the airport and necessitated an amendment to an existing policy. The policy previously required individuals to have been deceased for two years before an airport could be named in their honor.

While the official new name is yet to be announced, the airport will retain its three-letter code, BNA, which originates from Col. Harry S. Berry. Dolly Parton will also be recognized with a posthumous honor from the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce next week, further cementing her legacy in the city.
