Director Prefers Narasimham Charity Re-release Over Cinema

Director Shaji Kailas has shared his perspective on the potential re-release of the highly successful Malayalam film 'Narasimham'. He expressed that a standard theatrical re-release is not necessary, as he believes virtually every member of the Malayali audience has already watched the Mohanlal-starrer multiple times. Kailas revealed that the film has been prepared in 4K, indicating its continued relevance.

However, Kailas proposed an alternative approach if the film were to be brought back to theatres: a charity-based screening. He suggested using the event to raise funds for those in need, specifically mentioning cancer patients. Kailas recommended showing 'Narasimham' in premium theatres with higher ticket prices to maximize the generated funds, emphasizing that it should not proceed as a purely commercial venture.

According to Kailas, producer Antony Perumbavoor responded favorably to the idea of a charity re-release. Perumbavoor reportedly agreed that benefiting people would be a positive outcome and expressed openness to exploring the concept. The film, written by Ranjith, originally featured a notable cast including Thilakan and Jagathy Sreekumar alongside Mohanlal.
