A group of Welsh women in their 50s and 60s have formed a punk band called the NaNaz, drawing parallels to the fictional 'Riot Women'.
The NaNaz, a six-piece band, emerged from 'Nana Punk' workshops initiated last year in Newport. Their songs tackle subjects such as the high cost of care homes and societal views on older women.
Band members, who previously worked as nurses, foster parents, and shopkeepers, found a new outlet for expression and community. They are now experiencing significant success, with their performance schedule fully booked for clubs and festivals.
The band's journey highlights a powerful message about age, creativity, and defying expectations, inspiring many to pursue their passions regardless of age.
