The film industry is in mourning following the death of veteran actor Nana Patekar, who passed away at the age of 75 due to a sudden heart attack at his Goa residence on 2026-10-08.
Patekar had previously revealed the unfortunate circumstances surrounding his 2008 film, 'Horn 'OK' Pleassss,' which never saw a theatrical release. The film, directed by Rakesh Sarang and starring Muzammil Ibrahim and Rimi Sen alongside Patekar, faced significant production and distribution challenges.
According to Patekar, producers initially declined distributor offers that increased from Rs. 18 crores, holding out for Rs. 25 crores. This greed proved detrimental when the global recession hit, making the film unmarketable for even Rs. 10 crores.
Patekar also highlighted personal financial concerns at the time, stating that producers had promised to pay him later, but he insisted on immediate payment to cover his income tax obligations.
