Nakhrewaalii, a romantic comedy with a distinct North Indian flavor, premiered in cinemas today, October 30. The film has unexpectedly received an 'A' certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), indicating content suitable only for adult audiences. This rating came despite initial perceptions of it being a family entertainer.
Earlier this week, the CBFC's Examining Committee requested several alterations before issuing the certificate on October 28. These modifications included muting the phrase 'Maa ki' and deleting the word 'mother' from subtitles. Additionally, three dialogues were replaced, such as changing 'UP mein sab poor hote hai kya Sumit' to 'Tumhare yahan sab aise hote hai kya...' and altering 'Must be some East Delhi b***h' to 'Must be some cheap little witch'.
The film, which runs for 2 hours, 9 minutes, and 27 seconds, stars Ansh Duggal and Pragati Srivastava. It follows a misogynistic young man challenged to secure a government job within a month to win the girl he loves, leading him to decide to become a woman.
