On November 7, 2025, Nagpur will witness the much-awaited Khasdar Sankrutik Mahotsav, one of the city's flagship cultural events. The 12-day festival, known for its celebration of art, culture, spirituality, and music, is poised to be a vibrant showcase of India's diverse heritage.
The event will be inaugurated by spiritual guru and treasurer of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirth Kshetra Trust, HH Swami Govinddev Giri Ji Maharaj, in the presence of Union minister Nitin Gadkari, the pioneer behind the initiative, and state revenue minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule. The opening ceremony will feature a historic collective rendition of 'Vande Mataram' by over 25,000 citizens, marking 150 years since the song's creation by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee.
The Mahotsav will blend devotion with entertainment, with morning 'Jagar Bhakti' sessions featuring recitations of revered texts and evening cultural performances. The star-studded lineup includes Vishal Mishra, Akhil Sachdeva, Vishal and Rekha Bhardwaj, Shreya Ghoshal, Shankar Mahadevan, and Ajay-Atul, alongside special events celebrating the spirit of Maharashtra.
