Nagpur Hosts Vibrant 'Octave' Festival Showcasing North-East India

On October 7, 2025, Nagpur is gearing up to host a vibrant cultural extravaganza called 'Octave' from October 9 to 12. The four-day festival, jointly organized by the West Zone Cultural Centre (WZCC) and the South Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC), aims to preserve, promote, and popularize the traditional cultures of India's North-Eastern states.
The festival will feature performances by 223 artists from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura. Visitors can expect to witness a spectacular showcase of the region's diverse art, music, and dance forms, including Bihu, Bardoi Sikla, Hojagiri, Sangrai Mog, Singhi Cham, Naga war dance, and more.
Adding to the cultural charm, the festival will also host a bamboo sculpture workshop, celebrating the North-East's deep connection with this versatile material. Skilled artisans will demonstrate traditional bamboo craft-making, offering an insight into the region's rich craftsmanship. Furthermore, handicraft stalls from all eight states will exhibit and sell a range of items, including bamboo furniture, decorative pieces, wood and stone sculptures, clay artefacts, textiles, and tribal jewellery.
The festival is being held under the guidance of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and is expected to draw large crowds from Nagpur and the surrounding areas. Organizers have appealed to the citizens to attend the event and experience the vibrant diversity of India's North-East.
