Intermittent rain showers did not diminish Nagpur's festive spirit as devotees welcomed Lord Ganesh with enthusiastic chants and colorful processions. The city's traditional idol-making center, Chitaroli, and the adjoining Itwari area experienced significant crowds as numerous Ganesh idols began their journey to various pandals. Key 'agman' events included the arrival of Santi Ganpati, with expectations for larger celebrations including 'Nagpur Cha Raja' on Sunday.
Ganesh Chaturthi is set for Monday, September 14th, marking the culmination of final preparations. Hartalika Puja and Ganesh Pratishthapana will also be observed on this day, adding to the city's festive rush. Despite heavy evening rain, artisans in Chitaroli worked late into the night to complete idol orders after weeks of dedicated crafting.
Centuries-old Ganesh temples across Nagpur are also being elaborately decorated with flowers and lights in anticipation of thousands of devotees. Prominent temples like Tekdi Ganesh Mandir, Bhuryacha Ganpati, and Siddhivinayak Ganesh Mandir are making special arrangements to manage the expected surge in visitors starting from Ganesh Chaturthi.
